Building trust between Conservation Donors and Field Conservationists
We want to make it very easy for these two groups of people to interact with confidence, and to achieve the maximum possible impact with donations from the first group to the second. We want this to be a partnership.

Our key partners
Conservation Donors
Private individuals and corporations and governments who want to fund nature conservation, and to protect natural carbon stocks.
Field Conservationists
Dedicated individuals and organisations that are passionate about working at ground level to protect nature, and therefore, biodiversity and natural carbon (above ground biomass).
Contributions and Benefits
WHAT RESERVES PROVIDE AND RECEIVE
Reserves will be able to choose how much or how little information they wish to share on the Landscape Care website.
Reserves first of all need to register with the Landscape Care Initiative and provide GIS information and some historical information about their reserve.
They will then receive a simple graphical analysis of the last 10 years of vegetation, and mean precipitation, combined in a report with their description of their reserve and the local ecology.
If they are accepted on to the program, and they wish to continue, the Landscape Care Initiative will then confirm their legal right to represent their property through further questions and research.
They will then receive a second report with more detailed graphical information, an estimate of the carbon reserves on their property and the flux over 10years, and a certificate showing that their land rights have been confirmed. If they wish, selected details about their reserve including photographs and data will be published on the Landscape Care Initiative website, including their website URL if they have one.
The third stage involves the reserve providing evidence of their long term commitment to conservation, and the management resources that they apply to it.
Once they have passed stage 3, they will be provided with a cloud-based database system where they can record their biodiversity information, guidance on how to demonstrate their conservation impact, and web-based tools to help them to manage internal processes like ranger oversight, and reporting in general.
The final stage is a credit check on the reserve, to make sure that they will be able to make best use of the funds that may be directed to them via the Landscape Care Initiative or elsewhere.
Having passed the final stage, reserves will receive a report that they can use to attract funds from any funding source. It shows what they have been achieving and what they aspire to achieve in conservation, and is an indication of their reliability.
Once a credit check has been approved, reserves can seek funding through the Landscape Care initiative Website, either for Landscape Care Units (that is , funding the costs of conservation for specific hectares) OR for individual conservation projects supported by scientific evidence.
Report 4 will be refreshed annually.

WHAT DONORS PROVIDE AND RECEIVE
Donors will vary from individuals to corporations, but they will all need to first register on the website and express their interest.
Once registered, potential donors will receive our monthly newsletter if they sign up for it.
Individual donors will have immediate opportunities to make donations which are appropriate to the size of their donation. For example, they may wish to contribute to our camera trap fund, or donate to a Landscape Care Fund that is shared between our reserve-partners.
Corporate donors that have expressed an interest in supporting specific reserve-partners will be asked to provide details of their organization.
Once reviewed, Corporate donors will be provided with an account and will be able to log in to the Reserve area and see which reserves are looking for support, with details. Suggested Landscape Care donation levels per hectare will depend upon whether the reserve is a biodiversity hotspot, their carbon density and flux, and the quality of conservation and protection offered.
Corporate donors can pledge support for a particular reserve, or for a number of reserves, and set up payments.
Once a larger donor has made their payment, they will be able to log in to their account and see a statement of their contribution and to download proof of donation for tax purposes.
They will be informed when their payment has reached the reserve.
They will also be given estimates of the carbon stock and carbon flux for the hectares that they are supporting, as a proportion of the total reserve.
They can download a numbered certificate showing their contribution’s carbon and biodiversity impact.
Additionally, they will receive the annual performance reports from the reserves they support.
They will also be able to post questions to the reserves.

Together, We Can
Make a Difference
Your message, your support, and your participation matter. Every donor, every reserve, and every conversation brings us closer to a healthier planet.
